LUCKNOW: In response to the demand from family members for a post-mortem examination conducted by a panel of doctors from AIIMS Delhi, the Banda administration arranged for the autopsy of Mukhtar Ansari's body to be performed by a panel of five doctors, including one from PGI. The entire procedure was meticulously recorded from two separate angles via videography, and concluded by Friday evening. Following this, Mukhtar Ansari's body was transported to his native Mohammadabad township in Ghazipur district by road, under heavy police escort.

A senior police official outlined the route plan for the journey spanning 400 kilometers from Banda to Ghazipur. A convoy comprising 26 vehicles was organized, with the route planned through Prayagraj via Fatehpur and Kaushambi. Subsequently, a route was designated from Kokhraj Handia Bypass to Bhadohi, and from Bhadohi to Ghazipur via Varanasi. Alongside the ambulance carrying Ansari's body, police and administrative officials were present, ensuring security and smooth passage. Family members' vehicles were positioned within the convoy.

Another senior police official disclosed that the post-mortem report indicated myocardial infarction, commonly known as a heart attack, as the cause of Mukhtar Ansari's demise. Viscera samples have been preserved for further chemical analysis. The post-mortem procedure was carried out at the Banda Medical College.
